Good news X8 owners. Minix has Released their 005 beta firmware which enables deep sleep mode which only uses 0.25 Watts. Now you can put youe X8/X8-H into deep sleep with the remote. Get the beta firmware here

I own a Minix Neo X8-H Plus. The only things I dont like about it is that Youtube app does not show videos in 1080p Full HD resolution. Also Netflix plays only in Standard Definition resolution.
One other thing is that the X8-H Plus won't get any Android 5.1 Lollipop firmware update. So that means you're stuck with Android Kitkat. For Android 5.1 Lollipop you need to buy the new Minix Neo U1 series.

returned my minix 8, froze all the time with Kodi, straight out the box, have to unplug to reset, yikes,

Nice media player! As of right now, what is the best media player out there with usb and Android? I have an Apple TV and a Roku3 but not real happy with either. I prefer the usb readability of the Roku3 but I'm in to Android and really don't like ios. I currently own and very much enjoy using my Nexus 5 and Galaxy Tab S.
